Energy Minister tasks Goil Plc to be a reliable Bulk Distribution Company

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has urged the newly inaugurated reconstituted board of Go Energy Company Limited, a subsidiary of Goil Plc, to be the country’s most reliable Bulk Distribution Company (BDC).

During Wednesday’s inauguration in Accra, the minister emphasized the need for the board members to devise innovative ways to improve efficiency and the company’s financial position.

“Go Energy should aim to be the primary BDC for government and the most reliable BDC in the downstream sector. Unfortunately, the company has been saddled with debt, like most state-owned enterprises. His Excellency the President has absolute trust and confidence in this board. You have my full support and maximum cooperation,” he stated.

Mr. Yaw Akoto, the Chairman of the new board, on behalf of his members, expressed gratitude to the President and the Minister and vowed to work with integrity and deliver on their mandate.

“It is an honour to accept this role as Chairman of the Board. It is a pivotal subsidiary of Goil Plc. We aim to be the best BDC in the energy sector in line with the goals of the company. We will deliver on our mandate and work with integrity,” he added.

The six-member Board, chaired by Mr. Yaw Akoto, includes Mr. Theophilus Otchere, Mr. Emmanuel Jeffery, Mr. Alex Oti-Mensah, Madam Patricia Kyei Frimpong, and Mohammed Amin Osman.
