Don’t Fall For Bawumia’s Apology, Keep Faith With Kennedy Agyapong—-Nicholas Donkor Admonishes.
Mr. Nicholas Donkor, a Deputy Director in charge of Policy and Research for Team Kennedy-North America has cautioned NPP members not to fall for the recent wholesale apology from Dr Mahamodu Bawumia, the 2024 flagbearer of the party.
Speaking to this reporter, Mr Donkor said the apology was insincere and lacked the show of remorse.
Additionally, the Deputy Director said the apology was done in a collective manner rather than a personal one from Dr Bawumia who was in charge of the party’s front for the 2024 election.
“I appeal to the NPP rank and file to reject this apology from Dr Bawumia because it lacks the grounds of sincerity, personal responsibility and the show of remorse”, Mr Donkor stated.
Issues:
Mr Donkor said the former Vice-President and flag-bearer of the NPP despite having resources and opportunities to empower party persons denied them same.
He noted that initiatives that were started from the former flag-bearer’s office were used to only empower persons close to him as well as others who shared family relationships.
Mr Donkor said the much touted Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) which was launched under the office of Dr Bawumia when he was Vice President was headed by Dr Ibrahim Anyars, a man who had blood relations with the Veep then.
Dr Anyars, the Deputy Director of Team KEN claimed paid paltry sums to NABCo personnel and later impoverished them by laying them off the scheme while many youth organisers and other party functionaries also stayed home without jobs for 8 years.
Appeal:
Wofa Nico, as the Deputy Director is popularly referred to by friends, urged party members to rather than anyone, vote for Kennedy Agyapong to enable him lead the party into the 2028 elections as flag-bearer.
According to Mr Donkor, Hon Agyapong had demonstrated desire to give job opportunities to the youth by setting up industries and factories that is currently offering them employment.
He revelead that currently, Hon Kennedy among other initiatives was building what would become the largest Ethanol Production Company in Africa.
“I humbly ask NPP delegates to give Hon Kennedy Agyapong the opportunity to lead the party into the 2028 elections so that he could become the transformational President Ghana desire to have”, Mr Donkor appealed.
