Boniface will deliver in his position-Manhyia North MP

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Collins Owusu Amankwah has rallied support for the Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development, insisting the nominee is perfectly prepared to bring transformation in the lives of residents of the Zongo communities.

According to him, not only has Mr Boniface Abubakar Saddique lived amongst the people of the Zongo but had also studied to know the psyche and challenges confronting residents of slums and Zongo communities.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper over the weekend in Kumasi when he visited Moshie-Zongo, a community within the Manhyia North Constituency, Hon Amankwah noted the economic conditions within the Zongo communities were peculiar but surmountable.

He, therefore, applauded the president for appointing such a knowledgeable and firm character to head such an important ministry which was exclusively reserved for the development of places of neglect.

EXPERIENCE:
Speaking with some authority, Hon Amankwah noted the peculiar circumstances and challenges bedeviling Zongo settlements.

According to him, the very architecture of the settlements at the Zongos makes it difficult for people to properly integrate into the society as the face many inconveniences including the lack of proper infrastructure and basic social amenities.

He stressed these communities were highly deprived, noting few existing structures such as toilets and boreholes were over-utilized by the increasing numbers who are resident there.

Mr Amankwah therefore stressed a concerted effort was expended to rapidly develop proper architecture for the people and also gradually integrate them to enjoy all the benefits a first class settlement was enjoying in the main cities of the country.

CONFIDENCE:
Expressing confidence in the president’s nominee, Hon Amankwah said the Madina Abokobi MP was fully baked to help address the issues facing the people of the Zongo and others who were dwelling in slums across the country.

According to him, Hon Abubakar has researched into urban and rural architecture and was therefore equipped enough to proffer solutions to addressing any peculiar challenges pertaining in such settlements.

‘’Having been a minister before and knowing how far he has researched into issues affecting the people of the Zongo there is no way Hon Boniface Abubakar will fail in this new portfolio he has been given’’, Hon Amankwah posited.

According to him, ‘the nominee is fully prepared for the task ahead as he moves to ensure the agenda of the NPP to create better conditions for people living in slums and the Zongo’s are improved’.
