As the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) gears up to the polls to elect national officers over the weekend in Kumasi security capos have assured delegates and the people in region adequate security.
Contrary to reports that heavily built men working for some aspirants are planning to cause confusion at the congress ground, rawgist.com’s Kwabena Danso-Dapaah reporting from the Ashanti Region says “the Ghana Police Service has indicated preparedness to deal mercilessly with trouble makers”.
The regional police command says they are ready to ensure the safety of lives before, during and after the congress and will ensure a peaceful election.
“Police is ready for any eventuality… anyone or group of persons who decide to go contrary to the law will meet our match”, regional commander, DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye, warned.
He added enough personnel are currently on the ground monitoring proceedings as the D-day draws near.
