Ashanti Police arrest Visa/job fraudster

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested a 47 year old man for fraud.

The Police say George Koduah has taken various sums of money from unsuspecting victims with the promise of securing for them visas, jobs or contracts.

DCOP Ken Yeboah, Ashanti regional Police Commander, in press briefing, explained that, on Tuesday 23rd May 2017, at about 4PM, the suspect, also known as Nana Yaw was arrested at Santasi Anyinam a suburb of Kumasi.

The Police explain that the suspect George Koduah claims to use his purported influence at the office of the Ashanti Regional Minister and that of the Defense Minister to secure them the aforementioned services.

DCOP Ken Yeboah revealed that George Koduah managed to collect various sums of monies between the amounts of GHC4,000.00 from his victims but failed to honour his promises until he was arrested from his hideout.

The Police say the suspect could not prove any links with the offices he claimed to utilize. Neither was he able to show proof of contracts or transactions between the occupants of those offices.

It was disclosed that, during a search in his residence a total of thirty-seven  (37) application letters with CVs and result slips applying for Ambassadorial, Municipal/District Chief Executive positions and other positions at the Flag Staff house, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and government agencies were found in his room.

The suspect is currently in police custody assisting in investigations.

The police used the opportunity to appeal to the general public especially persons who have fallen victim to his activities to come to the Regional Headquarters in Adum to assist in investigations.
