Youth Group Plead With Dr Nduom To Contest Election 2016

Dr-nduomThe Upper East Youth branch of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has appealed to Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, the 2012 flag bearer of the Party, to rescind his decision not to contest the 2016 presidential election.

The group, made up of the Progressive Youth Movement (PYM), Volunteers For Nduom (VOFOND) and other groups within the party, expressed shock about Dr Ndoum’s decision not contest the 2016 presidential election.

A statement read by the Spokesperson, Mr Nsobila Emmanuel, said they were shocked because this was the period the country needed Dr Nduom most to deliver it from the current economic hardships, corruption, depreciation of the cedi and the high unemployment.

“This is the most critical time for Dr. Nduom to show patriotism and love for the country. It is evident enough that President John Dramani ahama does not have the wherewithal to fight the corruption and mismanagement of his appointees,” he said.

Mr Nsobila said Dr. Nduom had been ordained by God to rescue Ghana from the current economic crisis and pleaded with him to rescind his decision and to contest the 2016 general election.

He said a survey the group conducted revealed that most Ghanaians believed that Dr Nduom had the ability to turn the fortunes of the country around.

“We therefore see no reason why Dr Nduom should retire from politics at such a tender age when we expect him to showcase his credentials. We and many Ghanaians believe Dr Nduom is the best candidate who will give Ghanaians the needed direction and hope,” he said.

Mr Nsobila said after touring nine tertiary institutions in the six regions of Ghana, they had received assurances from floating voters including market women, students, teachers, farmers and the elderly about their desire to vote for Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom should he contest for the 2016 general elections

They assured Dr Nduom that as youth group of the party they would work hard to ensure that the party wins the 2016 and for him to become the President of the country.
