Your robust economy collapsed in 2 weeks of COVID-19-Raymond Tandoh teases Bawumia

Mr Raymond TANDOH, a management and financial consultant says it is funny the Vice President, Dr Mahamodu Bawumia still claims the NPP has built a robust economy since assuming office in 2017.

Speaking to this reporter, Mr TANDOH said COVID-19 in just two weeks exposed the Ghanaian economy which had been touted as beyond compare in the sub-region by the Veep.

According to him, it was surprising that the government in just two weeks of Covid-19 hurriedly ran to the IMF and the World Bank for relief, two institutions they had demonized.

Mr TANDOH said contrary to the claims by the Vice President Ghana’s economy but for the IMF bail out would have crumbled in the face of the outbreak of the viral disease.

“Isn’t it ironical that an economy that Dr Bawumia had every second touted as the best thing that ever happened to Ghana would in just two weeks be on its knees because of the outbreak of the viral disease, coronavirus”, Mr TANDOH quizzed.

INFRASTRUCTURE:
Taking on the NPP government for its poor attitude towards infrastructure development, Mr TANDOH noted that the NPP cannot compare itself to the NDC in any way.

He disclosed that the Mahama administration with GHC 71 billion cedis from three years of oil proceeds built massive infrastructure including the Ghana Medical Center, the Maritime Hospital and the Fomena district hospital.

With same funds and revenue, the financial consultant said the Mahama government also built the Bekwai Municipal hospital, the Cape-Coast Sports stadium, the Circle interchange as well as the Kasoa interchange and the Kyebi water expansion project.

In sharp contrast, Mr TANDOH said the NPP government with a revenue of 141 billion cedis from oil proceeds in three years has almost nothing to show in terms infrastructure or monumental projects.

“It is funny that those who have received much have nothing to show for infrastructure and by this attitude they make the scripture in Luke 12:48 of no effect”, the financial consultant posited.

ADVICE:
Mr TANDOH has therefore advised Dr Bawumia to be truthful to Ghanaians and desist from his vague claims.

He noted that nothing about the economy the Vice President touts supports the reality on the ground.

The Consultant said the very point Dr Bawumia made at the 5th Ferdinand Ayim lectures exposes him because the interest rates has given him out as someone engaged in empty propaganda.

“I would just advise Dr Bawumia who is head of the Economic Management Team of Ghana to fix his eyes on the sinking economy and rescue same because his claims betray him as someone engaged in empty propaganda”, Mr Tandoh admonished.
