“You are a criminal”-Bantama Delegates chase Okyem Aboagye

Nana Boakye, Leader of Concerned Youth of Bantama addressing the media in Kumasi Thursday afternoon.

Some delegates from the Bantama branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have alleged that their Member of Parliament, Daniel Okyem Aboagye is using funds meant for development projects to buy votes in the impending imternal primaries of the party.

At a hurriedly arranged press conference Thursday afternoon, the group of delegates numbering over 100 accused the incumbent MP for wasting their share of the common fund.

They stressed that but for the criminal behaviour of Mr Aboagye the Bantama community would have seen better development than it is seeing now.

Basic amenities that should have been given to the communities, the group claimed are unavailable.

REBUTTAL:
Spokesperson of the group, Nana Boakye said rather than concentrating on his failed campaign as MP the incumbent is alleging his contender, Francis Asenso Boakye is engaged in vote buying.

He noted that the concerned delegates as they are called are determined to vote for the Deputy Chief of Staff not because of any thing but for the show of care.

The spokesperson said the Deputy Chief is Staff had single handedly resourced hospitals in the community and upgraded roads that  were unmotorable in the famous constituency.

Some of these things, the spokesperson noted has endeared most of the delegates to the Deputy Chief of Staff, adding that they see more development coming to the constituency when they have him as their MP in 2021.

DEMANDS:
The group has meanwhile asked the incumbent MP to come out and apologise to the people of Bantama for his wicked claims that the Deputy Chief of Staff is buying votes.

They dared that failure to do so would attract their fury.

The delegates go into Saturday’s elections with two options, to retain the incumbent MP, Mr Okyem Aboagye or give their approval to the Deputy Chief of Staff, Asenso Boakye.

The contest in Bantama promises to be a fiery one since both contenders are claiming to have the upper hand in Saturday’s election.
