Yellow Fever: Vaccination campaign ongoing

Yellow Fever News-The Ashanti Regional Health director Dr. Emmanuel kojo Tenkorang says Ghana is at risk of Yellow fever outbreak.

He reveals that cases of the disease continue to be reported almost every year.

He says some districts are however at a higher risk; a situation that has necessitated a yellow fever vaccination campaign in such locales.

The districts include:

1.Ahafo-Ano North

2.Asante-Akim North/Cental

3.Asante-mampong

4.Atwima-Kwanwoma

5.Bosome-freho

6.Bosomtwi

7.Ejura-Sekyeredumase

8.Sekyere-Cental

9.Sekyere-South/East

10.Atwima-Nwabiagya.

The vaccination exercise stretches from 28th November, 2018 to the 4th December, 2018 for people from 10 to 60 years old.

He explained during a press conference that persons allergic to eggs, persons with reduced immunity due to cancer, symptomatic HIV/AIDS Patients and pregnant women are excluded from the vaccination exercise.
