Members of the ruling National Democratic Congress in Ashanti Tuesday chanted for the reinstatement of former Deputy Ashanti regional minister, Joseph Yammin when they carried him shoulder high during the march for Mahama organised by the Organised Youth of Ashanti.
The youth who participated in the well attended march carried the former Minister shoulder high intemittently whiles chanting his name throughout the march to express gratitude to the President for bringing several development projects to the Ashanti region.
Many of the NDC youth rawgist.com spoke to believe Joseph Yammin’s contribution to the fortunes of the NDC in the Ashanti region in the past election cannot be overemphasized. They believe a lot of the preparation towards the 2016 election will rest on the former Deputy Ashanti regional minister.
Joseph Yammin, former Ashanti regional Secretary of the NDC is largely credited with the significant incursion the NDC made in the Ashanti region which is considered a “stronghold” of the opposition New Patriotic Party.
“His understanding of the political terrain and grassroots politicking makes him the man to lead the NDC’s charge in the Ashanti region as the party seeks to obtain half of the votes from the region”, one of the excited young men opined to rawgist.com after the OYA march.
Joseph Yammin who mounted the stage to address the crowd emphasized the need to support the President through hard times and be grateful especially since he has within his first term as President done more for the Ashanti region than others did in eight years. He also raised the NDC’s targeted Ashanti votes from 1 million to 50% of votes.
