When James Gardiner kissed Tonto Dikeh

With his good looks, it may be too easy for admirers of actor, James Gardiner, to take it for granted that he just has to snap his james gardinafinger and ladies would virtually be at his beck and call. Wrong.

“Yes, I have many lady admirers,” he told Showbiz, “but I’m always very careful not to upset anyone. I get not too good comments from lady fans when they learn that I am in a relationship.

Very often when I am asked in an interview whether I am dating or not, I try to swerve the question because I don’t want to make my female fans feel bad. On the other hand, I cannot deny my girlfriend I love so,” James Gardiner said in an interview last week Monday.

He remembers one rather nervous situation early in his career when he had to kiss pretty Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, in a movie production.

“I couldn’t believe it when I was asked to kiss Tonto Dikeh in a movie called Love and Trust because she was someone I had always admired on the screen.

“I remember asking the producer repeatedly whether Tonto Dikeh would allow me kiss her,” he said.

“Although I was happy at the opportunity to be that close to an actress I admired, I was also thinking about how my girlfriend would take it,” he said with a wink.

“Thankfully, now she has gotten over it, and she understands the business and I’m happy about that.”

Talking about his movie career, James who has acted along some Ghanaian actors such as Jackie Appiah, Majid Michel, Nadia Buari, Yvonne Nelson and John Dumelo said his favourite movie has been Night With Her.

James attended St Augustine’s Secondary School and University of Cape Coast said he would always be grateful to a female friend who hooked him up with a movie producer when he knew nothing about acting.
