Western North: Residents to prevent transport of electoral materials to the area over bad roads

Angry residents massing up over bad roads

Residents of Sefwi Dominibo 2, Wenchi, Kroboano and Aboduabo in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality of the western north region say they will deal with any politician or Electoral institution that attempts to transport electoral materials to their localities for the purpose of elections.

“No road, no votes” is the mantra in that part of the country.

To show how serious they are, they went ahead to serve notice to the Municipal Chief Executive, Police commander, Electoral Commission and regional minister.

Peace FM correspondent Awuku Addo went round the community speaking to the youth, market women and chiefs and the feedback is that the people are fed up with successive governments ignoring their roads and leaving them to suffer.

They have been chanting war songs over their bad roads for some time now.

Chief of Sefwi Wenchi; Nana Owusu Akyempim II also corroborated the situation and called on the government to fix their roads immediately.
