We will bag all 47 seats in Ashanti – Wontumi swears

 

The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako has reiterated the party’s determination to capture all the existing 47 parliamentary seats in the Region in the 2020 polls.

According to him, the party will still hold on to its 44 constituencies it currently has and strive to snatch the three the NDC has in Ashanti from them.

Addressing a health walk and a people’s forum event organized by the party, Mr Boasiako popularly referred to as ‘Wontumi’ said ‘the Ejura Sekyeredumase, Asawasi and Sekyere Afram Plains seats which the NDC boasts about would be taken by the NPP come 2020’.

Drawing deafening applause from the sizeable crowd at the Dogo Moro Park at Asawase, the NPP regional chair charged members to tell others about the projects being undertaken by the Nana Addo government.

‘’I am determined to lead the NPP to take into our fold all the 47 parliamentary seats in Ashanti Region and use it to make a case that the NPP is in power for good’’, the Chairman posited boldly.

WOMEN’S ORGANIZER:

Addressing the crowd, Nana Ama Ampomah, Ashanti Regional Women’s organizer tasked party members, especially the women to gird their loins to wage a vigorous campaign towards the operation 47 seats in the region.’

She said the party was well able to take all the parliamentary seats if they put their shoulders to the wheel by working hard.

The task, she noted has been made easy for the NPP since the government has performed creditably by implementing pro-poor policies for the benefit of the ordinary Ghanaian.

Madam Ampomah said the implementation of the free senior high school, one district one factory, improved national health insurance scheme and many others give members the encouragement to reach out to all others in the region to vote for the NPP in 2020.

‘’We have a performing government and so our work is cut out for us as we are only to sell the good policies the government has implemented to the public’’, the Women’s organizer stressed.

FREE SCREENING:

Scores of party members took advantage of the free medical screening to test for their statuses in malaria, hypertension, diabetes and body mass at the grounds.

About 300 hundred people were also captured on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) with Bosomtwe Chairman, Addai Poku Aikins and the Drobonso DCE, Joseph Owusu, known popularly as ‘Odenkyem’ paying for the new entrants.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper after the event, Francis Adomako, NPP Ashanti Regional Organizer expressed satisfaction about the program and noted the turn out indicates members were ready to support the party to win the 47 seats in the region.

He commended all party executives for supporting the event to be a success and urged other NPP regional branches to replicate same event so as to galvanize its base.
