Bolt drivers lament l0w fares and security issues
Bolt Drivers in the Ashanti regional capital have been raising a number of issues in their ongoing demonstration prominent among them being the issue of better fares and their security.
The drivers, numbering into the hundreds boycotted work and converged at various parts of Kumasi to press home their demands. At one of such gatherings at the Baba Yara stadium, the drivers lamented that although the prices of fuel, spare parts and everything else keeps going up, they have been forced to accept the same old fares which causes them to run at losses. They explained that their plight is due to unhealthy competition between Uber and Bolt and called on the government to intervene. They also requested that the government intervenes in the security situation of online drivers citing examples of murdered online drivers and those who have been robbed of their vehicles.
They said their next line of action is their secret and that they will not put out their arsenals before their “enemies”.
