You are unfit to continue-PPP tells Mahama

Dr-nduomThe Progressive People’s Party,(PPP) has reignited the call on president Mahama to resign, describing him as an unfit person to still lead the country.

According to the party, the recent expose by the ace reporter of Joy fm, Mannasseh Azure Awuni that the president took a Ford expedition vehicle as a gift makes the president a bad example of a leader.

Addressing a well patronized press conference by the party in Accra, the youth wing of the party insisted the president had displayed bouts of conflict of interest warranting his dismissal from office.

The group, however, admonished the president to find the easy way out by either voluntarily resigning or stepping aside for the Attorney General and Minister of Justice to conduct an independent investigation into the issues surrounding his acceptance of the said gift from the embattled Jibril Kanazoe, the Burkinabe contractor.

They said, accepting a gift as huge as a 100,000 dollars vehicle is nothing but a blatant case of corruption and irresponsible behaviour.

ANGER:
The group finds the behaviour of the president despicable and undeserving of the office he occupies.

They wondered why he being the leader of the Nation could stoop so low to accepting a parting gift capable of compromising his office.

The PPP also noted the acceptance of the gift gave him away as a cheap person who would sacrifice the comfort of local contractors to the benefit of a foreigner.

According to them, his association with the Burkinabe contractor, Oumar Jibril Kanazoe which dates back to 2010 might have led him to award undeserving contracts to the foreigner at the detriment to competent local contractors.

HUGE SUMS:
The group claimed the amounts being quoted as contract sums for both the ‘bullet proof’ fence wall around the Ghana Mission in Burkina Faso and the construction of the 46 kilometer Dodi-Papaso eastern corridor road could have been massaged to dupe the Nation.

The group said the $650,000 dollar wall done around the Ghana mission complex in Burkina as well as the 25.9 million Euro Dodi Papaso road could have been done by local contractors at a hugely reduced cost.

The PPP, further claimed the president by his behaviour and tacit acceptance of the vehicle including the confirmation by his Minister of Communication had demonstrated he had been benefiting from several contracts the Burkinabe is said to have been awarded.

PURGE:
The group has called on the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General to institute an enquiry into the botched STX Korea housing deal which was spearheaded by the president when he was head of the economic management team under the late Prof Mills.

They believe the president might have contributed to the inability of the country to seal the deal for the commencement of the project by his infamous gift demanding attitude.

The group noted, the recent incoherent answer to a question posed to the president by a BBC reporter coupled with this comprehensive expose by Mannasseh Azure subjects the entire country to international ridicule.

They, therefore have asked the president to purge himself by resigning and thereafter pursue legal actions to riddle himself out of the mountainous streak of evidence against his person and conduct as a public official.
