UEW student whips up support for Y. B Emmanuel as NUGS President

Adu-Gyamfi Clifford, a student at the University of Education, Winneba is calling on students from other tertiary universities to vote for Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel as the next President of the National Union of Graduate Students.

According to the UEW student, the NUGS aspirant even before the upcoming contest had shown commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of Ghanaian students across the country.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper, Clifford noted that Y.B Emmanuel showed brave face again in the riots that rocked KNUST recently by rallying all students together to bring pressure on authorities to settle the unfortunate melee on campus on time and amicably.

According to the UEW student who is popularly known as Sir Clifford, Y.B Emmanuel has all the potentials to be a good leader for the student front in the country.

‘’I am fully persuaded that with Y.B Emmanuel as our NUGS president the student front would be assured of better treatment from both school authorities and persons from the Ministry of Education because he has proven to be a goal getter’’, Sir Clifford posited.

CAMPAIGN:

Speaking about the social media campaign he has started in school, Sir Clifford noted that the idea is to whip up support for Y.B Emmanuel.

He stressed that momentum should be generated enough to attract all students from other universities to come on board the Y.B bandwagon.

The NUGS, Sir Clifford needed a person who can become a rallying point for Ghanaian student in and out of the country.

He noted that unlike previous years the student body became disintegrated and disjointed with two persons claiming the status as NUGS President, Y.B Emmanuel presents students the opportunity to rally around a figure who would seek nothing but to solidify their front and fight for students welfare.

REFORMS:

The UEW student said the reforms Y.B wants to introduce to the administration of the office of NUGS president is extremely exciting.

He said Y.B envisages a proposal to Parliament where all students grouping in and outside the country would be under NUGS unbrella.

Regional Students Representative Councils and the National Union of Students would be duly formed to oversee activities of students, the proposal entails.

Payment and collection of dues, the proposal noted would be well defined by the SRCs and NUGS outfits.

Sir Clifford said some of these proposals make the ticket of Y.B formidable to be associated with and urged all students to vote massively for Y.B when the time is ripe.
