TRANSFER: Vincent Atinga joins Albanian KF Tirana

Former Hearts of Oak defender Vincent Atinga has penned a three-year deal with Albanian club KF Tirana.

The marauding defender has been without a club since his contract expired with the Phobian club in 2016/2017 season.

His explosive display for Hearts earned him a commanding spot with the Local Black Stars B, where he helped them win the WAFU Tournament.

The tough-tackling defender managed to convince the technical handlers with his performance and received a call-up to feature against Saudi Arabia in an international friendly.

Atinga joins fellow Hearts player Winful Cobbinah, who has signed the dotted lines for the Bardhelute and will be with them for the next three seasons.

Cobbinah comes in with huge experience, having won the MVP in the MTN FA Cup last season and featured prominently for the Local Black Stars B’s WAFU triumph.

Hearts released a statement on their twitter handle confirming the sale of the player to the Albanian club.

Pre-season training is underway with Atinga and Cobbinah expected to join the rest of the squad. 15 players were present at the Skendar Halili Complex on the first day.

Having spent last season in relegation, Tirana will seek to avoid going down the lower division once again, after promoting some of their youth players to the senior level, as well as other players from Kosovo, Macedonia and Switzerland.
