There would be a major surprise in 2016 elections- Kwesi Pratt

CPPRenowned media practitioner, Kwesi Pratt believes there will be a major surprise in Ghanaian politics with Ivor Greenstreet being elected as the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Flagbearer.

He says the CPP’s ability to mobilize about 6% of total votes cast and their ability to have twenty  (20) members of  parliament will be a major development in Ghanaian history. He noted that there will major surprises that Ghanaians should look out for.

Stressing how the CPP can cause a major upset, he stated that Mr. Greenstreet has great credentials which go in his favour. He says he is married to daughter of Ghana’s former vice president, Ekow Akaah. He is a great lawyer, publisher, businessman among others. He contested the parliamentary seat for the CPP at Ayawase- Legon in 1996 where he managed to get over 4800 votes whereas the party never secured up to 500 votes in the previous election years which makes him a key contender. He further stated that his physical challenge was not by birth but through accident but continued to work in the party until he was elected as the General secretary for the party in 2007 and got re- elected in 2011.

He says the election of Mr. Ivor Greenstreet, a physically challenged person sends the signal that the CPP does not discriminate and that he has full confidence in the newly elected flagbearer of the CPP because of his ability to organize and mobilize.

As a member of the CPP, Mr. Kwesi Pratt stated that the party still needs Samia Nkrumah and Prof Akorsah in the party to rally behind Greenstreet. He however admonished Samia Nkrumah to stop vying for the Jomoro Parliamentary seat. He says it will not be prudent for her to vie for the parliamentary seat but should reflect after losing the primaries. Kwesi Pratt added that the best option for her is to throw her support behind Ivor Greenstreet in order to redeem her image.
