Techiman North MP embarks on women empowerment drive

Alex-donateMember of Parliament for Techiman North, Hon. Alex Kyeremeh has donated over ten thousand Ghana cedis towards women empowerment in his constituency.

The Member of Parliament, who is also Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Pre-tertiary education is currently on a tour of 40 communities within his constituency has decided to empower women through various focus groups.

He tells rawgist.com his decision to help the women stems from the important role women play in the development of the various communities.

“Women are the basic unit of development as far as I am concerned right from the domestic level, hence empowering them is tantamount to empowering the whole society”, the MP exclaimed.

The MP who is on a week’s tour of his constituency has also given bursaries worth between GHC1,000 and GHC 3,000 to over 20 brilliant but needy school children within the Techiman North Constituency.

He has also invested over GHC10,000.00 in the tutoring and re-registration of candidates who failed some of their WASSCE papers within the constituency.
