The Queen-Mother of Tanoso Dominase, a town in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of Ashanti, Oheneyere Ama Serwaah has appealed to the Overlord of Asanteman, Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II to help rid the mysterious deaths that has been happening in the community.
In an interview with cmonline over the weekend, spokesperson of the Queen Mother, Abusuapanyin Akwasi Agyeman narrated two horrifying deaths on a parcel of land in the area.
According to him, despite an embargo on the said land by Otumfuo preventing both the Queen Mother and one self-acclaimed Dikro of an adjoining town called Boaso from stepping on the disputed land the latter has flatly flouted the ban.
Known in private life as Kwabena Mensah, the self-acclaimed Dikro of Boaso whose stool name is Kofi Bimpong II has for about two years of the dispute employed the services of land-guards who have allegedly succeeded in killing two people who visited the land.
CONFIRMATION:
Speaking to the paper later, Muhummed Mahamudu, a block worker narrated how he was brutally attacked by Nine (9) persons on the disputed land at Dominase.
According to him, he had gone to the plot of land to work and moments after settling down with a colleague of his, nine men from nowhere pounced on them and butchered them with machetes.
Muhammed revealed that his colleague managed to escape leaving him behind and only survived because of some charms he had on his body.
‘My brother I escaped with cuts on my ear and hands and at the Abuakwa Police Station blood was oozing all over my body until I got report to be treated at Doctor Moro.’’, Muhammed narrated with pain.
According to him, after a complaint to the Police CID he in the company of the Police went to the Odikro’s house who upon interrogation confirmed to have sent those land- guards to the land.
Regrettably, Muhammed said the Odikro, Kofi Bimpong II has not been arrested by the Police nor invited by same as he continues to bear the cost of his treatment himself.
POLICE:
The Abuakwa Police, the spokesperson hinted is aware of the mysterious deaths in the community as the two cases have been reported to them.
According to the Abusuapanyin, nobody has been arrested by the Police despite one of the land-guards confessing to have been sent to the disputed land by Kofi Bimpong II, the Boaso Dikro.
The Head of the Abuakwa District Police Command, ACP Joseph Nyaaba is accused of acting lukewarm in getting the perpetrators of these strange deaths in the area to book.
Having taking sides in land issues in the area, the Abusuapanyin on behalf of the Queen mother appealed to the Ashanti Regional Police Command to investigate the activities of the Abuakwa Police Service so as to save the community.
