Rev. Victor Osei defends Prez Mahama; explains “dead goat syndrome” comment

victor-oseiRev. Victor Osei has sought to clarify the President’s “dead goat” expression which has become famed in Ghana.

Ghana’s President; John Mahama, in his address to the Ghanaian community in Botswana some time ago said he has a “dead goat syndrome”.

He explained that he has seen more demonstrations and strikes in his first two years and doesn’t think it could get any worse. “It is said that when you kill a goat and you frighten it with a knife, it doesn’t fear the knife because it is dead already,” he said, for which reason “I have a dead goat syndrome.”

Ghanaians have since given the expression all manner of meanings mostly to the president’s disadvantage.

General Overseer of the Family Chapel International, Rev. Dr. Victor Osei who spoke on Kumasi based Fox FM, has called on
Ghanaians to give the President a break. He says the pressure given the president is too much.

He explained that it is important for a leader to “have a thick skin hence the dead goat comment”.

When asked if Ghana had enough people who could steer the affairs of the country successfully, the Reverend Minister stated with certainty that Ghana indeed has many leaders implying that the country is not suffering from a lack of able leadership.
