REPORTS: George Amoako set to lead new Kotoko management team

After dissolving the current management team, the Executive Board Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Dr Kwame Kyei is set to announce a new team headed by George Amoako.

Dr Kyei on Monday disbanded the management team with immediate effect, and assured the teeming fans of an imminent team – a press release said so.

According to deep throat sources, George Amoako is set to lead the new team as the general manager of the Porcupine Warriors.

Amoako doubles as GHALCA general secretary and Premier League Board (PLB) Vice Chairman.

The experienced football administrator has served the club before under Herbert Mensah’s era. He has also enjoyed ties with Kingfaisal and Ashanti Gold.

Dr Jerry Newton is likely to replace Michael Leat as the Medical Officer, barring any last minute hitches.

In steering the club to great heights as boldly and clearly written in the press statement, Dr Kyei has entrusted the direction of the club to Dr Yaw Amo Sarpong to serve as the Policy Analyst.

Dr Amo is the director for short courses in KNUST. He is also the patron for circle 43, and a frontrunner for Kotoko faithfuls.

Caleb Adams will serve as the team’s psychologist while Nana Kwame Danquah serving as Accra Rep with Edmond Ackah being his deputy.

Lawyer Sarfo Duku will be the head of communications in the new regime. According to sources, Nana Kwame Danquah could double as deputy head of communications for the club.

Nana Kwasi Gyambibi Cooker maintains his role as special assistant incharge of special duties.

Coming into the fray is former Kotoko player Yusif Alhassan Chibsah, who is handed the role as international relation officer. Isaac Ofori Donkor, known in the media circles as ‘Perusha’ maintains his post as operations director.

Barring any holdup, the official announcement is due on Tuesday, with their first official meeting coming up on Thursday.
