Reconstruction of Kejetia Bus terminal commences amidst agitations

kejetiaConstruction  has commenced at the controversial Kejetia bus terminal in the Kumasi metropolis even though the President is yet to cut a sod for the construction to officially begin.

The Kumasi metropolitan assembly secured a loan of 298 million dollars from the Brazilian government to reconstruct both the Kejetia terminal and Kumasi central market.

The reconstruction is faced with serious opposition from traders who were not ready to leave the terminal.

Security forces have however been employed to evict the recalcitrant traders to pave way for construction to begin.
