The Minister of Health, Mr. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has announced that the government has made safe and free
oral cholera vaccines available at health facilities in Ablekuma in the Greater Accra Region, as well as Awutu and Cape Coast in the Central Region.
Mr. Akandoh, therefore, urged Ghanaians to visit designated health centers to receive the free vaccines. He also called on local radio stations, religious organizations, local government authorities, and the Environmental Protection Agency to support the campaign against cholera.
The Minister made these remarks during a visit to Winneba and Swedru Municipal hospitals in the Central Region.
He stressed the need for good hygiene practices, such as consuming hot meals, drinking safe water, and regularly washing hands, to prevent the spread of cholera.
