The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appealed to Christians in the country to daily offer prayer on his behalf to God so he could have the requisite wisdom, protection and good heart to lead in his second and last term in office.

Addressing Pastors, the congregation as well as party members and government appointees at the Mckeown Temple Church of Pentecost in Asokwa, the President said he would still need the guidance of God to be able to do well for the people of Ghana.

He noted that the challenges of the country were enormous but with God’s guidance, wisdom and protection the NPP would deliver on its promises and mandate.

The President therefore pleaded with the Asokwa Church of Pentecost to remember him in prayer anytime they go on their knees or come for corporate worship.

“Remember me in your daily prayers so that God will give me the requisite wisdom, protection and good heart to lead as President”, the President appealed.

The President asked for support from the church as the committee tasked to construct the cathedral he promised God gets to work.

He noted that having promised to honour God with a befitting place of worship for the Christian community it was important that believers offer support to him to make do his word to God.

The President commended the Church of Pentecost for offering to him Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, their former Chairman who now heads the Committe tasked to construct the cathedral.

He said the wisdom and grace of Apostle Onyinah would stand him in good stead to rally enough people especially believers to contribute resources in the construction of the project.

“I am part of the Church of Pentecost because I chose none other but a member of your denomination, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah to lead the committee I have tasked to help in the construction of the cathedral I promised God”, the President stated.

Reverend Prophet Amaniampong,  Head of Mckeown Temple Church of Pentecost urged Ghanaians to show commitment to building a better Ghana by their attitudes and lifestyles.

He noted that when every citizen does his or her best wherever he or she is placed we would collectively help to develop the country in a right manner.

The church prayed for Ghana and the President and also offered special prayer for the Trade Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen who was celebrating his 66th birthday.

The President in honour of God and the Church of Pentecost donated GHC20, 000.00 as offering.

Accompanied by the Asokwa MCE, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah and Madam Patricia Appiagyei, Member of Parliament for Asokwa, the President inspected roads under construction from the Asokwa Brewery to Dompoase junction.

This access route is being constructed by Messers Chico Construction Company Limited.

The project is envisaged to be completed by the end of 2021 and handed over for commercial use.
