OMP, Olympics to meet over Duncan

imagesFooty-ghana.com can exclusively reveal that the hierarchy of media outfit, Optimum Media Prime (OMP) will meet partners Great Olympics on Tuesday afternoon to, amongst other things, decide on David Duncan’s future with the team.

Footy-ghana.com earlier reported that Duncan was dragging his feet over appending his signature to a two-year contract, which had exasperated certain members of the Great Olympics hierarchy.

Footy-ghana.com can now reveal that Duncan’s reluctance to sign the deal has been occasioned by a power struggle between himself and the club’s Board Chairman, Eric Nii Afotey Odai, with both men not seeing eye to eye.

Our sources reveal that whilst Duncan wanted a 30-man squad, Afotey disagreed and at the moment, the club has 49 players on its books.

Footy-ghana.com can also confirm that Afotey has disagreed with Duncan’s transfer plans and insisted on certain players being signed.

Footy-ghana.com came across a letter sent by OMP’s Chief Executive, Fadi Fattal on Saturday regarding the meeting and the letter is as follows.

Dear Board Chairman and Board members,

It’s been a long time since we met and it has become very important to have a meeting to have a look at the following issues

  • starting of the league preparation

  • player status co& contracts

  • coach Duncan signing on

  • Salaries payments Dec 2014

  • Way forward on finance needed to support the club

I am therefore calling for an emergency meeting ASAP.

Fadi Fattal.

Footy-ghana.com can also confirm that the meeting will seek to address alleged differences between Afotey and Duncan, in order for the ex-Hearts of Oak boss to sign the deal after the meeting on Tuesday.

OMP purchased a 40% stake in Great Olympics after the team won promotion to the Premier League last season.
