NUGS cautions students, at all levels of education, to be circumspect in their usage of social media platforms

nugsThe National Union of Ghanaian Students (NUGS) has cautioned students, at all levels of education, to be circumspect in their usage of social media platforms as they believe such platforms are being used by unscrupulous individuals to exploit their unsuspecting victims.

NUGS made the call in a statement it issued to convey their solidarity with the victim of an act of sodomy allegedly perpetrated by Dr.Sulley Ali Gabas,a former worker at the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital in Takoradi in the Western Region.

Whiles condemning Dr.Sulley Gabas, NUGS pleaded with all parents and guardians to have special interest in what their children do and the kind of people they interact with on social media platforms.

Speaking to Live News General Secretary for NUGS, Iddi Mohayide called on authorities to begin the discussion on the need to place some form of restrictions on social media usage so as to protect the vulnerable from falling prey to individuals who set out to take advantage of them.
