NPP never sacked newly recruited workers in 2017, ‘even if we did; should NDC repeat it’? – Hon. Korsah
The Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, who is the immediate past Minister

MP for Techiman South Constituency; Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah
for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development has denied claims that the NPP led by former President Akuffo Addo, after assuming power in 2017, sacked workers employed under the then previous Mahama-led NDC administration.
His comments come after the government through the Chief of Staff Julius Debrah issued a directive to revoke all appointments made after December 7, 2024.
Challenging the NDC’s claims that the NPP had sacked around 13,000 workers during its tenure, he argued that there is no concrete evidence to support these claims.
Hon. Korsah revealed that “while former Senior Minister Osafo Marfo had proposed such a move, the NPP never followed through with it”.
Mr. Korsah, who criticized the governing NDC for making several mistakes since assuming power, pointed out that the dismissal of the over 25,000 workers will be one of President Mahama’s regrettable moves in his second term.
The Techiman South MP emphasized that Ghanaians voted for the NDC to bring about a reset of the country, and even if the previous government made mistakes, the NDC is not expected to repeat them.
