The assurance was given by the Managing Director of the Company; Mr. Edwin Alfred Provencal during a press briefing at the Kumasi Depot of BOST on Tuesday following the detection of adulterated products transported to that depot.
He recounted that nine trucks carrying adulterated products were discovered by their staff during their pre-discharge tests. He explained that a search has been mounted for the drivers of the other eight trucks to assist with investigations.
The MD said the company is taking all necessary steps to ensure the anomaly does not repeat itself. He explained that BOST has stringent protocols in place for the testing and loading of their vessels before they are transported and also before they are offloaded at their destination to ensure that the same products dispatched is the same product being offloaded.
He was particularly happy that their protocols have proven effective as the adulterated fuel was discovered by their staff in the course of testing.
“No adulterated product will find its way into our tanks let alone get onto the market” he emphasized.
He said new technology will also be introduced to better safeguard the system and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
