As the National Democratic Congress (NDC) gears up to elect its national officers to steer affairs of the party for the next four years, the chairmanship race is becoming fiercer as groups within the party continue to demand changes to the party’s leadership.
Many of the young people within the NDC believe that a lot should change within the party to enable party’s Better Ghana Agenda have its full manifestation.
The latest of these groups; Concern Youth of the Upper West Region and Young Cadres, has made a call on NDC topnotch, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya to take up the chairmanship of the party.
The group’s secretary, Zakari Abdul-Rahaman Markus in a Press statement says Alhaji Huudu Yahaya has been a dedicated member of NDC since inception of the party. “Due to his track record and selfless services to the party, we have taken it upon ourserves to invite him and hardworking members of the party to contest the topmost positions”
Two party members have declared their intention to contest the incumbent chairman Dr. Kwabena Adjei who is seeking re-election; Mr.Kofi Porthophy; NADMO Boss and Alhaji Huudu Yahaya, reconciliation chairman in NDC.
Many within the party are not sure how the call on Alhaji Hudu Yahaya will play out on the party’s elections which comes off within a matter of weeks.
