NDC communicators defend Samuel Sarpong from NPP funding allegations

Ashanti regional NDC Communicators have served warning they will not take kindly to any member bad-mouthing former Ashanti regional minister; Samuel Sarpong.

Leadership of the Ashanti Regional Media Monitors has observed that some of their own are moving from one medium to the other accusing the former Regional Minister of financing the ruling New Patriotic Party prior to the last elections. They wonder why people are working so hard to question Dr. Sarpong’s allegiance to the NDC by showcasing him as someone who holds double allegiance.

Chairman of the Media Monitors Abdul Latif Abdullahi (also known as Julius Agahowa) tells rawgist.com his outfit finds this comment against the former minister unfair and a sign of ingratitude. He says Dr. Sarpong is one of the members of the NDC who has supported them in their time of need.

“There are times that our activities would have run to a halt if not for financial support from Dr. Samuel Sarpong. We therefore want to urge our membership from denigrating the image of this party stalwart”, he said.

Mr. Abdullahi went on to explain the need for unity within the party and encouraged members not to settle personal scores or wash their dirty linens in public.

He says the communicators are ready to rehash the successes of the erstwhile Mahama administration and keep the ruling government in check.
