NDC Ashanti election: Those who respected our role in the party won-Media Monitors

Ghana Politics News-The Ashanti Regional Media Monitors of the NDC say they are not surprised at the results of last weekend’s internal elections.

They believe there is a direct correlation between those who “respected” them enough to visit them and seek their consent ahead of the elections and those who won.

They believe the results of the delegates conference held at Kumawu proves their influence and relevance in the party as far as the Ashanti region is concerned.

A statement by Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Media Monitors Association said “Also we want to use this opportunity to thank them for the respect they gave to we the Ashanti Regional Media Monitors. Before the election we informed all our members that No member should campaign for any candidate unless the Candidates pay a visit to our group and inform us officially. Honestly speaking almost 90% of those who won accepted our decision and visited The Ashanti Regional Media Monitors to officially inform us and asked for our blessings and Support to embark on the Journey of contesting the Regional Position contest”.

Chairman of the Media Monitors; Abdul Latif Abdullai (also known as Julius Agahowa) in a congratulatory message asked the newly elected executives of the region to consider their members when appointing persons for various roles.

He assured the Executives of his outfit’s support towards preparations to wrestle power from the current government.
