NCCE, GHS must do more sensitization on COVID-19 vaccination – Francis Adomako

NCCE, GHS MUST DO MORE SENSITIZATION ON COVID VACCINATION—-FRANCIS ADOMAKO.

The Ashanti Regional Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP),Mr Francis Adomako has charged the Ghana Health Service(GHS) and the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE)to increase education on the COVID-19 vaccination drive as announced by government.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper Tuesday morning, Mr Adomako said myths and misinformation about the newfound vaccine has become so rampant on both conventional and social media circles.

He noted that the earlier the GHS and NCCE commence community by community sensitization the better for the population.

Mr Adomako was worried that people in the hinterlands and others who have been fed with wrong information on the vaccine in the cities will decide not to partake if care is not taken.

“I urge the NCCE and the GHS to double up and conduct widespread sensitization drives to educate the public on the need for them to take the vaccine”, Mr Adomako stated.

CAUTION:
The Regional organiser cautioned opposition political party elements who have been spreading fear and rumor about the vaccine to desist from same.

He wondered why persons in the Ashanti Region such as Wallace Ababio, a spokesperson of the NDC and Akwasi Addae Odike of the UPP could mount platforms to spread falsehood about the vaccine.

Mr Adomako urged all stakeholders in the health industry to also conduct personal education for persons in their circle.

He rallied support from faith based organisations and religious bodies to ensure members of their congregations present themselves for the public inoculation exercise across the country.

“I am surprised some unpatriotic elements have decided to throw dust into the eyes of the public by describing the new vaccine as lacking the needed ingredients to provide protection or reduce the risk of COVID-19 and I urge them to desist from this attitude”, the NPP regional organiser cautioned.

COMMENDATION:
The regional organiser commended the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the public show of confidence in the newfound vaccine.

The open demonstration of his inoculation, Mr Adomako said shows his confidence in the efficacy of the drug.

Mr Adomako also commended all others including the Vice president and service commanders as well as ministers of state for openly demonstrating faith in the COVID-19 vaccine.

He urged all others who are billed to take their jabs from today to do so with confidence but asked that they eat and abide by the instructions they would be given when they attend to the center where the vaccine would be administered.

“Our President since assuming the highest office of the land has demonstrated confidence and last Monday’s event where he was publicly inoculated was exemplary “, Mr Adomako posited.
