Napo gives to two needy homes in Kumasi

Ghana’s Education Minister and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh early Wednesday morning donated some food stuff and hand washing items to the Cheshire Rehabilitation Center and the Kumasi Children’s Home.

The gesture to the two homes was to mitigate the difficulties the inmates and staff at the homes may be going through due to the lockdown announced in the wake of the viral disease, coronavirus in the country.

In his succinct remarks, Dr Napo said he decided to share what he had with the homes so as to keep body and soul alive.

He noted that it was important that privileged people show kindness when difficult times come up.

“As someone who has benefited from God’s grace it was important that I share with persons who I know would struggle in the wake of this difficult period”, Dr Napo intimated.

APPRECIATION:
Mr Owusu Adjei, Administrator at the Cheshire Rehabilitation Centre for the  Mentally Ill commended the Education Minister for the gesture.

He disclosed that the Minister has been to the facility on countless occasions to support the inmates.

The Administrator appealed to other well to do persons in the society to emulate the gesture of the Education Minister.

“We in Cheshire home are happy to know Dr Napo and the heart he displays to us has been legendary because he has consistently shown kindness to us”, Mr Adjei noted.

HEAD OF KUMASI CHILDREN’S HOME:
Madam Mabel Amponsah, Head of the Kumasi Children’s Home expressed her delight at the items donated by the Education Minister.

She said the Home has continually benefited from the humanitarian assistance of Dr Napo.

Madam Amponsah urged other MPs to show same kindness to needy homes so that persons in these outfits will feel part of the society.

Madam Amponsah asked the Education Minister to support the outfit to complete a JHS block they are constructing for the Home.

Present at the Homes to support the MP  for the donation exercise were Lawyer Justin Koduah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) as well as  Francis Adomako, Ashanti Regional Organizer of the NPP.
