NaBCo is an insult to young graduates-NDC Youth Organizer

Ghana News–The Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Brogya Genfi has described the Nation Builders Corps (NaBCo) initiative which seeks to provide a lifeline to unemployed youth as an insult.

According to him, the initiative is rather a move by the Akufo Addo-led government to deceive the youth and to get their votes in the 2020 elections.

He said the perception that it will help reduce unemployment is just a lie, and see it as an insult to the youth and for that matter, must rise up against it and ask for better conditions, he said.

President Akufo-Addo launched Nation Builders Corps initiative which has an objective of utilising talents of teeming unemployed graduates who are yet to land permanent employment on Wednesday in Kumasi.

It is expected to empower over 100,000 youth who would be hooked onto the programme.

Mr. Brogya Genfi who is skeptical about the benefits of the initiative claims that is not a panacea to unemployment in Ghana.

He stated that, he cannot see the initiative creating jobs.

He said  Nana Addo and his government promised full-time jobs and not half jobs like NaBCo, and argued what then happens to them [beneficiaries] after the programme, which he said means they will return to their unemployed state, he told the media.

According to him, the Akufo-Addo administration which has failed to create jobs wants to use the NaBCO initiative which is not sustainable to save its face instead of tackling unemployment head-on.

He moreover, observed that, workers demand immediate intervention to save ‘dying’ Neoplan Ghana.

“NaBCO is just a short form of Nana Addo and Bawumia company. They will employ you for a while and then when exiting from office, beneficiaries go with them. It’s not sustainable. Akufo Addo has failed woefully, he underscored.

  1. Clearly, I can see the fear and panic that’s running through hearts of NDC leadership, who disappointed and failed the Ghanaian youth. Most of these graduates have been jobless and without money for more than 5yrs after their National Service. Most became burden to families and virtually nuesance to society.
I think the NPP rather deserves praises for this initiative.
These young guys really need something to engage them that would also provide some livelihoods and job experiences to them while waiting for substantive jobs.
Truly if this happens the NDC will suffer bigger defeat in the next elections because this will be a better relieve to individual youths and families.
I think people like Brogya Gyamfi in the NDC must bow and burry their heads in shame because they failed to speak and act on behalf of the Ghanaian youth when they had the opportunity. They only sought for their welfare when they were in government.
I think responses by the NPP to the plight of Ghanaians so far is loudable.
I am positive that 1d1f and 1v1d will happen to further provide a more permanent jobs for many people in Ghana.
