Francis Wiredu of Fransco Limited in the Ashanti regional capital emerged the overall winner at the MTN Northern Sector Mobile Money Awards ceremony held Saturday evening at the Golden Tulip Kumasi City.

Over 400 other MoMo Merchants and Vendors won various awards including Motor bikes, generators, television sets, laptops, CCTV cameras, fridges amongst others.
CEO of Mobile Money Limited; Mr. Eli Hini who spoke to rawgist.com revealed that the year has been good. He said his outfit succeeded in making fraud very expensive for MoMo fraudsters by locking up phones of fraudsters and using ID cards for MoMo cashouts. These measures, he said has resulted in a reduction of fraud cases.
He revealed that about twenty thousand agents have been blacklisted for creating false transactions and trying to earn commissions fraudulently. He hoped these measures will amount to a cleaner service in the coming year.
Regarding armed robberies, he revealed that his outfit continues to liaise with the police in their quest to reduce robbery incidents and also fish out culprits. He also stated that consistent cautions are sent to MoMo agents on how to ensure security. To top it up, CCTVs will be given to some awardees to help create more visibility in their places of business.
