MTN Manager urges internet use to improve lives and businesses at iFest launch

The essence of internet in the lives of individuals and businesses today cannot be overemphasized.

The internet today is a tool employed by both individuals and corporate entities to stay connected, share information, collect data, update customers, and entertain people amongst other uses.

In Ghana, data subscription has increased rapidly within a short time. Data and Channel Manager for MTN Northern Business District; Steven Asare tells rawgist.com data subscription on MTN has increased from 2.3 million in 2010 to about 11.5 million currently.

He attributes this success to several initiatives by MTN prominent among them being the MTN iFest.

He spoke to rawgist.com on the sidelines of the Northern Business District launch of MTN iFest; an internet festival aimed at making people appreciate the importance of data in their lives and businesses.

He says the days where internet use was restricted to sending and receiving emails are long and now the internet serves a varied array of functions that have enriched lives and improved businesses.

The southern business district launch of IFest was launched at the Accra Mall two weeks ago followed a week later by the Northern District launch at the Kumasi City mall.

The launch saw a wide display of technological devices. Partnering entities also displayed their wares.

Steven Asare also highlighted the advantages of the 4G service and urged Ghanaians to switch to MTN and MTN’s 4G service to enjoy fast downloads and better internet quality. He encouraged Ghanaians to continue exploring opportunities for data use as an avenue to improve livelihoods.
