MTN hints of US$25m legacy project to mark 25th anniversary, donates to Muslim community

MTN Ghana has set aside an amount of USD$25 million to build legacy projects to mark the telecommunications giant’s 25th anniversary.

General manager for MTN’s Northern sector made the revelation during a visit to the Ashanti regional Chief Imam ahead of the Eid ul Fitr celebrations Wednesday morning.

As part of the visit, MTN Ghana donated items including a ram, bags of rice, bottles of soft drinks, packs of bottled water, boxes of cooking oil, recharge cards were meant to refresh Muslims as they break their month-long Ramadan fast.

Mr. Nii Adotey Mingle told rawgist.com the donation is a yearly ritual meant to strengthen the bond between the telecommunications giant and their Muslim customers. He prayed the relationship continues to grow from strength to strength.

Ustaz Ahmed; Executive Secretary, office of the Ashanti regional Chief Imam who received the items on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam; Sheik Abdul Mumin Haroun was full of gratitude and recounted the cordial relationship between MTN and the Muslim community over many years. He promised to offer prayers for the further success of the company.

Donations of similar magnitude were made to the National Chief Imam as well as Muslim communities in Takoradi and Tamale.
