Malaria Prevention: Distribution of free mosquito nets ongoing in Ashanti

Ghana Health News-The Ashanti regional health directorate has begun the free distribution of insecticide nets as a means of preventing malaria incidents in the region.

A press briefing hosted by the Ashanti regional Health Directorate Wednesday announced that the distribution of mosquito net to the general public will happen between 15th to 21st November 2018.

Dr Emmanuel Tenkorang explained that people who have already registered with their cards could go for their Mosquito Nets at the specific places where they registered.

He added that, those who have misplaced their cards will be sorted out in due time.

He said, about 3.6 million Ghanaians have registered for the Mosquito Nets from the approximately 1.6million houses they visited for the registration.

He appealed to the general public to get involved in the distribution of the nets and take precautions to prevent the spread of malaria in the region
