Make kente our National wear- MTN Commercial Head

Commercial Head for MTN Ghana, Northern Sector, Mr Peter Bimpeh, has called for a holistic approach to sustaining and making the Kente cloth more attractive to the Ghanaian populace.

He is suggesting that, the Kente cloth be made a National cloth instead of the usual traditional wear.

Mr. Peter Bimpeh said this during the cash presentation of GH¢7,000.00, airtime and Mtn products towards this year’s Bonwire Kente Festival.

The presentation was part of measures to boost kente weaving business in the area and also strengthening their ties with the community.

MTN Ghana last year, supported the kente festival and is poised to make it an annual ritual, since the two stand the chance of benefiting from the program.

He used the occasion to appeal to the stakeholders in the business to make the price of the kente cloth more flexible such that every Ghanaian can have access to one.

He said kente shouldn’t be seen as a royal preserve but something for all and must be our everyday wear.

He advanced his case, by saying, the kente business stands to make our economy more resilient and it is necessary for MTN Ghana to lead in the promotion of the business.
