Nana Poku Frefre, Founding Member Scotland Branch NPP and National Youth Organiser hopeful for the NPP

A founding member of the Scotland branch of the New Patriotic Party and a member of the NPP communication team in Ashanti,  Nana Poku Frefre has admonished the youth not to waste the investments the government is making in their education and empowerment.

He also urged the Youth who have found jobs in the formal sector as well as in government to make their contributions show in nation building.

Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper in Kumasi over the weekend, Frefre said the President of Ghana believes in the youth so much to entrust into our hands life changing opportunities.

This, he noted culminated in his appointments as well as his desire and subsequent decision to make senior high school education free.

Nana Poku Frefre, said being a believer in the empowerment of people, he was not surprised the President decided to invest in education.

This, he stressed is because education is the best pivot for human development and progress.

Those who would take advantage of this giant step by the President to invest in the youth would reap the dividends, the youth activist and communicator added.

Currently, Mr Frefre noted programs such as NABCO, Planting for Food and Jobs as well as One District one Factory are tailored towards youth empowerment.

These programs, he said offers the opportunity to the youth to add premium to themselves as well as many others so that collectively they could work to develop the country.

AMBITION:
Making his ambition clear, the youth icon and internationally trained youth advocate said he would put himself up to lead the NPP as national youth organiser when the time is ripe.

He noted that having studied the current trends of youth development he would put into work ideas that would help the Ghanain youth rise to the levels of expectation.

The youth, he intimated were naturally expected to lead the country when the older generation exit the scene but added no one could lead without having the requisite experiences, education and competences.

This, he posited brings into focus his ambition which is to inspire hope as well as make the youth take their destinies into their own hands by contributing their knowledge and expertise into nation building.

“My call to duty which is reflected in my name and catch phrase ‘Frefre Dom’ is only to tell the youth to join me to mobilise for development and our collective progress as we also gather to break the 8 year jinx our party has had to rule anytime we gain leadership of the country”, Mr Frefre posited.
