The Ashanti Regional Women’s Organizer, Nana Ama Ampomah has encouraged female office holders in the New Patriotic Party(NPP) as well as in government to consciously use their positive influences to inspire hope in the youth.
According to her, many young ladies and women in the country were looking at how positive the contributions of female appointees will be before they stake their interest in politics.
This, the incumbent Regional Women Organizer noted placed enormous responsibility on personalities like herself to lead exemplary lifestyles at all times.
Interacting with some young people who paid a visit to her at her residence last week, Madam Ampomah said the challenges on women in politics was huge but indicated that the NPP women were resolved to surmount them.
INSPIRATION:
According to her, having entered politics early in life some of them were inspired by the exploits of Madam Hawa Yakubu, Rita Asorbayere and many others who despite the impediments that were put in their way because of their gender they still soared high in the art.
These women, she noted continue to give women in the party hope even though some were deceased, adding their inspiration still lived on.
The pretty giant, as the incumbent Regional Organizer is referred to by party faithful, therefore, urged her fellow women organizers to administer their offices with diligence and humility.
Many young ladies, she reminded the group were watching how the party women were comporting themselves so as to take a cue from it when they take over from them in future.
REGIONAL TOUR:
Giving indication of what she intended to do in her second term in office, Madam Ampomah told the team that she will be embarking on a regional tour to show appreciation to party faithful and residents in the region for the show of support for the NPP party.
According to her, the NPP could not have won last year’s polls if people in the hinterlands and cities of Ashanti had not shown support to it.
She praised the exploits of market queens and traders in the various markets in the region for sacrificing their time and energy to embark on door to door and outreach campaigns for the party.
Madam Ampomah reserved special commendation for the media for aiding the NPP regional executives to sell its message to the masses which ensured the party won massively in the region.
