“Let us see progress in 2018”-7th Day Pentecostal leader urges gov’t

Pastor Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr, head of the Association of 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies has urged the NPP government to firm up policies that will ensure the youth get jobs to do in 2018.

According to him, the youth cannot wait any longer while their strengths go waste by the day due to their inability to get jobs to do.

Speaking at the end of year convention of the church at the campus of Kumasi High School in Gyinyase, Pastor Ofori Jnr said it was upon the promise of job creation that the youth voted for the NPP.

He cautioned the lack of progress in the life of the youth and masses would cost the government in the near future if measures are not taken to create jobs in the country.

CORRUPTION:
Speaking to the Ghanaian Observer Newspaper later at the event, the Leader tasked the government to tackle the issue of corruption with determined effort.

This, he noted was one of the reasons the people queued to vote for the NPP in the 2016 general elections.

According to him, the populace will be well off when all resources meant for the development of the country are expended on achieving exactly that.

Pastor Ofori Jnr urged the government to learn from the teachings of its founder, Apostle Enoch Ofori who before his demise ten years ago preached on serving the country with integrity and righteousness.

CHURCH PROJECTS:
On the part of the church, Pastor Ofori Jnr indicated its commitment to continue with projects that bring relief to the society.

He noted the construction of homes for the needy, the establishment of learning centers as well as the establishment of support schemes for the vulnerable in the society are all plans by the church to empower the Ghanaian people.

The Church, he mentioned recognizes the government cannot deal with the challenges confronting the country alone.

This, he said formed the basis on which the Church’s founder preached about the need for people to work and live responsible lives for the development of the country.

Deacon Joseph Kofi Appiah, a veteran broadcaster and morning show host at Boss fm, who launched the 7th Day Pentecostal Online-radio, mentioned the commitment of the church to continue to walk in the teachings of its founder and also propagate same to the Ghanaian people.
