Let the development of Ejisu-Juabeng be priority-Ashanti Regional Minister tells MCE

Mr Simon Osei Mensah, the Ashanti regional minister has urged the Municipal chief executive (MCE) of Ejisu-Juaben to prioritize issues that border on the development of the ancient town.

According to him, government business was to ensure development spreads across the regions of the country.

And to achieve this, the minister noted that government needed someone who could drive the focus of development by harnessing both human and natural resource potential of the locality.

The regional minister made these remarks when he swore the newly endorsed MCE for Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Assembly, Madam Serwaah Derkye into office.

CHARGE:

The regional minister charged the MCE to lead by example and ensure she applies her hands to transparency in all matters bordering on the administration of the office.

According to him, the residents of Ejisu Juaben will only offer their support when they see that the locality is being administered in sincerity and openness.

Mr Osei Mensah also reminded the assembly members of their role in charting the development path for their locality.

He, therefore, urged them to collaborate with the MCE and opinionI leaders in the community so as to ensure together they draw up a development strategy for the Municipal assembly.

RESPONSE:

In her succinct remarks, Madam Serwaah Derkye thanked the president and the regional minister for the confidence they have reposed in her.

She stressed her appointment was a call on her to serve at a bigger pedestal and promised to work to achieve the vision of the president for the ancient town.

She rallied the assembly members to partner her in the quest to develop the municipal assembly.

Madam Derkye promised to lead with humility so as to reflect the image of the president in the area.
