Former students of Kumasi High School (KUHIS) who are popularly known as Mmerante3 last Sunday honored their word to a final year student of the University of Development Studies (UDS), Master Shadrach Osei Boateng by paying in full cost of his feeding and accommodation for the next academic year.

The old boys also generously added some amount to be used by the brilliant student as pocket money.

Presenting the cash of GHC 3, 000.00 to the student, Aberante3 Nkrumah, Ashanti Head of KUHIS OLD BOYS encouraged the student to make the group proud by excelling in the program he is pursuing.

He also asked the student to stay focused on his vision of becoming a useful person to his family, community and country.

‘’We are pleased to present this cash amount to you as our gesture of saying thank you for proudly representing KUHIS at the famous National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ) almost four years ago’’, Abrante3 Nkrumah stressed.

STUDENT:

On his part, Master Shadrach, an old boy of KUHIS thanked the regional group for the gesture.

He said the support they were offering was enough impetus for him to do well in his program at the UDS.

Master Shadrach also promised to make them proud after school by working hard to ensure both his family and the society becomes satisfied with his output.

He urged current students at Kumasi High School to study to perform well in school, adding similar support awaits them when they excel in what they do while on campus.

‘’I am grateful for this gesture by my seniors and I promise to study to excel as I enter my final year knowing very well I have my family to take care and to help my society to become the best in the world’’, Master Shadrach posited.

MEETING:

Present at the brief ceremony were former old boys of KUHIS and well wishers of the school.

The old boys have a custom where they hold periodic meetings to plan and think about their alma mater.

Currently, the old boys are planning on how to empower the school’s science teachers as well as students so that they can display better prowess at the national science and maths quiz (NSMQ).

Motivation packages as well as other incentives have been outlined to ensure the strategy yields dividends next year when the Quiz returns.
