Ksi Central Market: Many shops razed down in another fire

Another fire at the Kumasi Central Market has destroyed some 50 shops.

The men from the Ghana National Fire Service managed to put out the fire after emptying four fire tenders during the Sunday morning inferno.

Shop owners who have lost their shops in the fire remain shocked with many wondering how they are going to survive.

City authorities have visited the market to assess the situation as well as officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).

Many are trying to clean up, pick the pieces and get their businesses back afloat.

Fires have become a recurring event in the Kumasi Central market. Many promises have been given on finding lasting solutions. Advice to the traders on preventive measures have also fallen on deaf ears over the years.
