Chiefs and people of the Krobo area are angry with rapper Sarkodie over his lyrics in a song titled “Jennifer Lomotey”.
In the song sang by Kurls Songx, Sarkodie mentions a lady (Jennifer Lomotey) who he says is Krobo. He goes ahead to describe the lady’s sexual prowess and attributes her sexual feat to a curse of sexual promiscuity bestowed on Krobos by Komfo Anokye, a historical Ashanti priest.
The Krobo people are fuming with anger and accuse the popular rapper of deliberately sullying their image and profiting from it at their expense.
Konor of Manya Krobo, Nene Sakite II extols the rich culture of the Krobos. He angrily explains that “Sarkodie doesn’t know what he is saying. We have a rich culture that prohibits sexual promiscuity. We train our women so well. That Komfo Anokye thing is complete ignorance. That guy should retract that song otherwise we will have to meet him at the appropriate quarters”, the chief angrily explained.
Meanwhile some Associations involving Krobos in the diaspora have also condemned the rapper for his “demeaning” lyrics.
