The KNUST SRC Women’s Month Campaign, which is on the theme; ”Generation Equality, Taking up Space”.

Speaking at the media launch of the Women’s Month Campaign, Miss Esinam Sosu-Dees advocated for the inclusion of women in various roles adding that women, when allowed to take up leadership roles would contribute to the growth of other women.

“When we give women the opportunity to take up spaces, not only do they better themselves, they also raise other women,’’ she said.

According to her, a lot of people argue that ”the world is in turmoil because we don’t have a lot of women to take up positions—the higher you go the fewer women you find”.

‘’I’m telling you that as women, not only are you in the university to take your degree courses, but it’s for you to go out there, encourage other girls who will also want to take leadership roles, encourage them to do more and take up space,” she stated.

She noted that the KNUST SRC Women’s Commission is dedicated to empowering women on campus to take up space however and wherever they want through a series of activities and programs the commission intends to set a motion generational change that will build capacities and increase presentations on all front.
