KNUST NDC students fear they may already be suffering political victimization from lecturers

tein-execsSome members of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the NDC fear they may be suffering political victimization from some of their lecturers who are keen on seeing an NPP government after next year’s elections.

The students who voiced out their concerns at a TEIN handing over ceremony at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology expressed concern about the latest development of some lecturers announcing a group to openly facilitate a Nana Akufo Addo Presidency ahead of Ghana’s general elections next year.

The immediate past President of TEIN, Fatau Abubakar Saddique in his speech cited an instance in which a lecturer pointed out one of his colleagues as being among the northerners who helped John Dramani Mahama become President. That same lecturer reportedly misplaced his exam paper and gave him a borderline mark of 40; a situation which affected the student immensely.

Many students were also concerned about ongoing hints that students would soon bear their utility bills on campus.

A minister of State at the Presidency, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah was however quick to allay their fears saying that no decision has been made on that yet.

He advised students not to allow anyone to lure them into demonstrations based on fear of utility charges.
