INT’L FRIENDLY: [VIDEO] Simba held to a 1-1 by Kotoko

Tanzanian football giant Simba SC were held to a pulsating one all draw against ‘African Club of the Century’ Asante Kotoko in an international friendly on a massively organised ‘Simba Day’ in Dar es Salaam.

It was Kotoko who shot themselves in front on the 44th minute, when striker Obed Owusu headed into an empty net after Michael Yeboah’s voracious strike had rattled the crossbar.

The Porcupine Warriors were up by a goal to nil heading for recess.

The home side mounted an incessant pressure on the visitors in search of an equaliser, and possibly go on to carry the day.

They were, however, rewarded 15 minutes to full time, after a through pass hobbled through a loosen Kotoko defence, which met Emmanuel Okwi at the far post who wasted no time in connecting the ball to send the entire stadium into a frenzy mood.

Once again, a jaw-opening Kotoko defence saw Chama Chota squeeze a through pass to Adam Salamba who was brought down in the 18-yard box. It was a penalty for the home side.

Felix Amman elected himself as the hero of the day, as his dive perfectly met Salamba’s poorly taken kick three minutes to full time. The game ended one all.

Simba Day commemoration is organised by the Tanzanian outfit to reward players and coaching staffs, announce new signings and outdoor new kits for the upcoming season. It was founded in 1936 and has stay on till date. It is an annually organised event.
